INTENTIONAL. Break it down and you’ll find ‘intent’ at the core. So what does it mean to live a life of ‘intent’ion?
By definition, to be intentional means to do something with PURPOSE.
So that’s the question I propose to you today. Does your life have purpose? Are you being INTENTIONAL in what you do? Are you living out God’s design for your life?
As Christians we often get lost in all the pretty things that religion offers and we live in the NOW. We get caught up in our escapades of ambition and passion but we have no purpose. We have no idea where we are going or how we are getting there just that we are driven to do something by passion so we throw all our sensibility and practicality to the wind and chase after whatever it is we are urged to follow.
However, Scripture speaks of purpose, not of impulse and spontaneity. “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” (Proverbs 19:21) We are called into God’s Divine purpose to be a people of intention. He brought purpose into our lives the very moment we were conceived. So why then do we not live in that purpose?
The only thing in my life that is organized is my closet, and then again, I still have that basket of clothes in the floor that I need to fold. But regardless, even though we may often feel that our lives our physically falling apart, that does not mean that our spiritual intentions can’t be intact and thriving. I chose for this weekend’s project to be a vision board. I know it may seem silly to some, (and I used to agree) but it is world-changing to see your goals and dreams all laid out before you and know that you are capable of achieving each and every one of them. Having a vision for your life is the key to being intentional. Know what you want to do and who you want to be. Make the steps to become and achieve those things. Believe that you can be all of that and much more.
Don’t hold back when it comes to being purposeful. Choose to have crazy faith and speak into existence the things that you want to happen. Pray intentionally. Read intentionally. Speak intentionally. Act intentionally. And live intentionally.
Take a second out of your day and comment below what it is that you choose to be intentional about. There no thing too big or too small when it comes to living life purposefully.
